SOMETIMES FIRST AID ISN'T A BANDAGE OR CPR. SOMETIMES FIRST AID IS YOU.
Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training is an 8-hour course designed to teach adults, 18 years and over, how to help an adolescent who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. YMHFA trains adults on how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and addictions. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan on how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.
